Colleges and universities are experiencing increasingly tight budgets and fiscal pressure, with a focus on controlling expenses, especially in the energy sector. Large square footage along with mixed-use real estate over a large campus can complicate their efforts. Gotham 360 works with colleges and universities, analyzing historical utility data, identifying equipment problems, inefficient facilities, and poor behavior patterns to save clients millions of wasted dollars.
In addition, Gotham 360 engages their clients in participating in various programs not only to receive accreditation, but also to receive grants and funding to help further lower costs. Gotham 360 encourages colleges and universities to utilize the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System (STARS Survey), a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance.
As a program of Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), ASSHE STARS enables meaningful comparisons over time and across institutions, while building a more sustainable campus community and providing information about higher education sustainability practices and performance. As an AASHE STARS participant, you can pursue credits relative to academics, engagement, operations, and planning and administration, giving your institution the opportunity to earn recognition through the STARS rating system.
